Description
This trail begins on Road 2816 and climbs to the ridgeline, offering views north of Pinto Rock (the eroded remains of volcanic rock), Rainier and St. Helens. The trail drops over the ridge just beyond the half-mile point and continues south of the ridge, with a steep descent toward the Badger Lake area. The trail then joins with Badger Peak Trail No. 257A before ending at the Boundary Trail No. 1.
The 0.3-mile Badger Peak Trail once provided access to the fire lookout perched high on the 5,664 feet summit of Badger Peak. The lookout was built in 1926. It was abandoned and eventually removed in the 1960s.
