Description
Trail begins in big timber at Hidden Lakes and climbs through forest to open meadows of the buttes. Trail drops back into timber as it descends into the Pasayten drainage.
The buttes offer large wildflower meadows and sweeping panoramic views. There are miles and miles of ridges to wander. Three lakes are available via short cross-country routes. Big meadows country offers good graze for stock users and good alternative destination from the heavily used Hidden Lakes.
Late in the year water may be difficult to find on top of the buttes. East & West access trails are steep.
No motorized or mechanized vehicles. Wilderness use restrictions apply.
