Description

Located 4 miles east of Packwood, the River View Trail begins on Road 1270 just past "Jody's Bridge." The trail follows the Cowlitz River, offering views into the river canyon. The trail initially climbs, then takes a rolling grade as it winds through an open oldgrowth forest. The trail ends across the Cowlitz from La Wis Wis Campground, with no access across the river. This is an early and late season hiking opportunity for when the higher elevation trails are under snow.

Steep with exposures. Not recommended for horse use
