Description
Trail No. 79 begins on the Packwood Lake Trail No. 78 below Lost Lake and climbs southeast over semiopen terrain to Packwood Saddle (at mile 5.5). The trail then continues over scenic open terrain with excellent views, until ending on the PCT at Elk Pass.
Steep with exposures. Pack stock is not recommended past Beaver Bill Creek.
