- Skagit River
- Class I
- 1 day
- November to March
Unique and highly different than most river trips, commercial floats along the Lower Skagit take place in the heart of winter and for good reason. The Lower Skagit River flows peacefully through the Skagit River Bald Eagle natural Area, the largest winter nesting area for Bald Eagles in the continental US and home to over 500 birds.
Outfitters are careful to bundle up visitors in warm gear and blankets for a serene drift down the lower Skagit, a favorite for photographers, wildlife enthusiasts and river runners alike.
