Description
First 500 feet is roadbed and Twisp River Trail. Switchbacks up through forest with occasional views. Crosses stream at 3 miles; subalpine forest and meadows continue up to the lake.
Views of the Sawtooth Range and Abernathy Ridge. Wildflowers blooming along the trail during July put on a fine color display.
Stock users camp in meadow approximately 1 mile before lake. There is no grazing at the lake. Vegetation around the lake is fragile and firewood is scarce.
Wilderness use restrictions apply.
Northwest Forest Pass required. Corral and pit toilet.
