Description

Rising Sun Motor Inn was built in 1940, it sits adjacent to spectacular St. Mary Lake and is surrounded by soaring mountain peaks. In addition to 72 cottage and motor inn rooms, you will find a restaurant, camp store and gift shop. Red bus tours and boat cruises are available at this centralized location.

The inn was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 4, 1996.

Rising Sun Motor Inn is a smoke free facility with designated outdoor smoking areas.

Check-in time is after 3:00 p.m and the checkout time is 11:00 a.m.

All rooms are rustic yet comfortable with double and/or twin beds and a private bathroom.

All rooms are on the ground level and are not sold based on view.

A limited number of ADA accessible rooms are available and are booked based upon space available. Only designated guide, service and/or hearing companion animals are allowed in the hotel.

The Motor Inn is located on the hillside overlooking the complex and features motel-style accommodations with outside room access.

Store Motel rooms are motel-style accommodations. The rooms are located in the same building as the Camp Store, have a centralized hallway and most have wood floors.

Groups, weddings and reunions are welcome with advance notice.

The self parking lot is located a short walk from the motor inn and cottages. Depending upon room location, parking may be available near each of the motor inns. Parking is limited in front of cottages but for only one vehicle.

Rising Sun Motor Inn is located 6.5 miles west of St. Mary Visitor’s Center along the Going-to-the-Sun Road inside Glacier National Park.
