Description

Trail is in open forest and clears to large meadows several times before final ascent to Dishpan Gap, junction with Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail No. 2000, and Bald Eagle Mountain Trail No. 650. Entrance to Glacier Peak Wilderness lies just north of Dishpan Gap (excellent views). One mile further north on Trail No. 2000 is the incredibly beautiful Meander Meadow area with excellent vistas of surrounding peaks and wildflowers.

This trail follows the North Fork Skykomish River northeast to its headwaters. There is no bridge on the trail crossing the North Fork at mile post 4.0 and fording may be difficult during early season snowmelt runoff. The hike continues through open forest, clearing into large meadows before the ascent to Dishpan Gap at the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail junction. Campsites and water are available along this trail.

A Northwest Forest Pass is required for each vehicle parked at the trailhead.
