Description
The trail traverses aflat bench with Douglas-fir and western hemlockbefore dropping 300 feet to the West ForkHumptulips River. From the trailhead the Riveris reached in a short 1.0 mile.
A small parking lot with vaulttoilet and a stock unloading ramp.
Beautiful temperate rain forest.Towering conifers including Stika spruce,Douglas-fir, western hemlock and western redcedar provide dense shade for this trail. Theforest floor is covered with lush rain forestplants. Trail access West Fork Humptulips River.
The Lower Pete’s Creek Trail No. 858.1 provides access to the West ForkHumptulips River. Opportunities for hiking,fishing, viewing wildlife, and viewing scenery in the Olympic Rain Forest.
CAUTION: Hikers should use extreme cautionwhen choosing to ford the West ForkHumptulips River.

Travel US Highway 101 to FS Road#2220, approximately 8 miles south of the SouthShore Quinault Lake Road. Turn east and driveto junction with FS Road #2280. Follow #2280to junction with FS Road #2204. Turn north(left) on Road #2204 and drive approximately 7miles to Pete’s Creek Trailhead on right side.
