Description
The trail drops about 50 feet elevation to a foot log crossing of Granite Creek then winds upward. (This route was called "Easy" Pass because it was the only place possible to put a trail across rugged, ragged ridges.) The trail passes through heavy timber, meadows, avalanche chute with good views.
This trail offers magnificent views, especially in the fall when the larches turn gold. Once you cross over the pass you are in the North Cascades National Park and a permit is required for overnight camping. A permit can be obtained at the National Park Service office in Marblemount or at Methow Valley Visitor Center near Winthrop.
The national park does not allow campfires at Fisher Camp or the Fisher Creek Basin - be sure to carry a stove if you plan an overnight stay. Dogs are not allowed in the national park.
No camping at the pass. Trail is closed to horse, mountain bikes, and motorbikes
Northwest Forest Pass required. Vault toilets are available at the trailhead.
