The area surrounding the campground is a prime location for hiking, fishing and picnicking. Hikers and backpackers are especially fortunate to have access to a variety of spectacular trails within close proximity.

Horseshoe Bend Trail begins at nearby Douglas Fir Campground and is an easy hike along the Mt. Baker Scenic Byway, highlighting old-growth forests and gushing whitewater. The trail follows the North Fork Nooksack River upstream to a stunning view of East Church Mountain.

Skyline Divide Trail begins a few miles west of the campground and is one of the most popular hikes in the Mt. Baker Ranger District. The trail climbs steadily for two miles through forests and lush, open meadows with stellar views of glaciated Mt. Baker. The trail then wanders along Skyline Divide for another 1.5 miles, offering views of rivers, forests and countless peaks.

The North Fork Nooksack River offers fishing, rafting and kayaking opportunities. A launch site for rafts and kayaks is available about 11 miles west near Douglas Fir Campground.
