Description

The trail is a 4-mile loop trail. 1.3 miles along the south shore of Quinault Lake and 2.7 miles are through thetemperate rain forest. This loop trail begins atthe Quinault Rain Forest Trailhead. In a shortdistance from the trailhead, go left at the trailjunction and hike downhill (under the roadbridge) to cross a trail bridge over Willaby Creekbefore entering Willaby Campground. Walk thelower campground road to a junction with thetrailneartheshoreofQuinaultLake

Follow the trail along Quinault Lake, walkingpast the Lake Quinault Lodge before arriving atFalls Creek Campground. Follow trail alongedge of campground and Falls Creek to theSouth Shore Road. Cross road to continue on theloop trail. Walk 0.5 mile to trail junction, stayright and continue 0.5 mile to junction withLodge Trail. Stay left and walk 0.6 mile to thejunction with Willaby Creek Trail. Stay rightand continue the loop trail 1.1 miles back to theRain Forest Trailhead completing a 4-mile loop.

The trailhead includes a largeparking lot that will accommodate largerecreation vehicles, vehicles pulling trailers andbusses. Flush toilet, drinking water and a visitorinformation board are also available.

Dense old-growth conifer forestwith lush understory of rain forest vegetation.Trail parallels Quinault Lake with views of theLake and surrounding area before extendingdeep into the Olympic Rain Forest.

Excellent opportunity toview the Olympic temperate rain forest andQuinault Lake

Motorized vehicles, mountainbikes, and stock are prohibited.
