Description

Anderson Island Kayaks’ goal is to provide memorable recreational Kayak experiences in and around Anderson Island through instruction, rentals, and tours.

In addition to kayak rentals, the follow are examples of tours offered:

  • Oro Bay - This is 3-4 nautical miles(nm) and takes about 3-3+ hours of light paddling. It is sheltered and good for inexperienced paddlers, who want an introduction to Kayaking along with some local history. Points of interest are the marinas in Vega bay and the remains of an old brick factory.
  • Northwest Coves - This is 5-5 +nm and takes about 4 and 1/2 hours. Points of interest are Higgens and Lovass coves, and Amsterdam Bay and under sea life.
  • Eagle Island - This is a short trip, depending on tides, of about 2 nm and takes about 2 and 1/2 hours including a stop for sight seeing on the Island.
  • Andys Marine Park (Carlson Bay) - This is about 4 nm and takes about 3-3 and 1/2 hours along with a stop at the marine park for an eco pick-up. At low tide you can see moon snails, sand dollars and sea anemones.
