Description
The campground has potable water, accessible flush and vault toilets, a boat ramp to the Sol Duc River for drift boats, a nature trail and a small amphitheater.
The campground is nestled in a beautiful conifer forest. Lush rain forest vegetation of ferns, oxalis and moss provide a lush green understory. The campground is on the south shore of the Sol Duc River.

Tent and trailer camping, fishing, picnicking, hiking and nature study are available. This is a large 55 unit campground that will accommodate large recreation vehicles and vehicles pulling trailers. There is a short 0.3 mile loop nature trail that provides barrier-free access through a beautiful conifer stand and along the Sol Duc River for a short distance.
Colorful interpretive signs tell how pioneers work and lived in the Sol Duc Valley. This is a gentle walk for seniors and families with children.
There is a small amphitheater in the large camp loop where interpretive programs are conducted during the summer months
From Klahowya Campground, side trips can be made to Sol Duc Hot Springs and Lake Crescent in the Olympic National Park. Several hiking trails are nearby. Also, a short drive on a steep mountain road leads to Kloshe Nanitch Lookout where panoramic views of the Sol Duc Valley, Lake Crescent and Mt. Olympus can be enjoyed.
Campsites are $12 per night with a $5 charge for each extra vehicle. These are single family sites where the maximum capacity is 8 persons. Camping is limited to 14 days. A Northwest Forest Pass is NOT REQUIRED to park a vehicle at the Pioneer’s Path Trailhead.
