As the waters of the Cispus River tumble down from the Goat Rocks Wilderness and Mt. Adams, they enter a narrow forested valley where the river is squeezed through two exciting gorges. Navigating continuous rapids with techincal drops, large ledge holes and powerful hydraulics characterize a voyage down the Upper Cispus.
A look above the mossy canyon walls, that line the river, gives way to great scenery, with Tower Rock, a 2000’ tall formation, looming above it all. Fed by snowmelt, the Upper Cispus is run in springtime as a day trip or as a multi-day adventure in combination with the Lower Cispus.
