Surrounded by the Superior National Forest with its abundant wildlife, numerous hiking trails and proximity to the famed Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Big Lake Wilderness Lodge is the most remove drive-in lodge in northern Minnesota. Fishing, hiking, canoe trip adventures, and family-oriented summer get-aways are available in modern housekeeping cabins or remote island base camps. Special packages for fishermen and families. Bring your camera to capture the wildlife in their natural habitat and the magnificent vistas of pristine forests and clear blue skies. Along the marked hiking trails in the heart of the Superior National Forest you may see moose, deer, otters, beavers, wild berries, beautiful wildflowers and exotic birds.You can take day canoe trips into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness from our docks and return to the comfort of your clean cabin and shower. Our naturalists and staff offer activities for each member of your family. Our fishing seminar will help you understand Big Lake - a top rated walleye lake. We also have northern pike, trophy smallmouth bass and perch.In addition to 13 cozy, squeaky-clean cabins, there are 2 fully equipped and outfitted island campsites. The campsites were chosen for seclusion, natural beauty and easy lake access. Fresh water, ice and firewood are delivered daily. Island guests can participate in all resort activities and use the showers and sauna.We pride ourselves on our friendly, personal service and hospitality.
